After Dinner Acts

2 200x200 Liam OConnorLiam O'Connor

Whether he's firing off a flash of Afro-Cuban-trad fusion or playing the most gorgeously traditional air, Liam brings another dimension to music, finding depths and subtleties in both well-known traditional pieces and modern compositions, completely reinventing them. Not surprisingly, his live performances have seen him hailed as a true musical phenomenon.

Sean BolandSean Boland jpeg
Sean performs live to professional backing tracks and entertains with smooth, easy-listening classics from Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Perry Como, Michael Buble and many more, always at a non-intrusive level which allows people to tune in and out as they wish, to tap their feet or sway along with the music, often without realising they are doing so! Always dressed in blacktie formal wear and using a vintage style microphone, Sean's attention to detail puts the finishing touches to this timeless style, which is then presented to you and your guests as an audio backdrop rather than a focal point.

Fidelma and Friends
Fidelma and Steve (from The Shakes), on keyboards and vocals, have a two hour repertoire spanning the light jazz favourites of the 1930's right up to the more contemporary styles of Rumer, Norah Jones and Imelda May, to name but a few. They are great at pre dinner and over dinner bookings for the weddings or corporate events.

Eastern European Waiter
Is played by Paul Kennedy who has over twenty years experience in corporate entertainment and has a flawless East European accent. Having done The Drunken Waiter for years Paul decided that given that the cultural profile of Ireland's waiting staff had altered radically in recent years he would adapt the act accordingly.

Masquerade Singing Waiters
The Singing Waiters are professionally trained singers/actors who will disguise themselves as any character at your event, masquerading as waiters and waitresses, chefs, porters, banquet managers, policemen, paramedics, firemen, security staff even hidden guests! Having spent the evening performing their duties and interacting with your guests, they suddenly burst into song to the utter amazement and delight of all present.

Celtic Tenors
The Celtic Tenors have established themselves as the most successful Classical Crossover artists ever to have come out of Ireland. Signed on the spot to an international record deal in London in 2000, their first album went on to achieve double platinum status in their homeland, Number 1 in Ireland and Germany, Number 2 in the UK, and won them the “Echo Award” for ‘Best Classical Crossover Act’ in Germany.

The gospel group winners of the first All Ireland Gospel Choir Competition, which took place in Cork city in 2006, celebrate the core beauty of South African history through poetry and the pulsating rhythms of traditional dance and music.

Graffiti Classics - Comedy String Quartet
Graffiti Classics will leave you with a smile on your face - sixteen strings, eight dancing feet and four voices. Scintillatingly slap-stick with brilliant arrangements and mischievous humour. Every item in the programme reveals a unique talent - displayed in amazing individual and group performances with an exciting choreographed presentation. Graffiti Classics have moved the classical string quartet into the 21st Century. The combination of dance, classical, jazz and acoustic music together with energetic choreographed movements and humorous interactions with the audience provide a stunning show that no one will forget.

Finbar Fury
Finbar started playing music at a young age and it wasn't long before music totally dominated his life. In the early 60's, he started appearing with his brother Eddie, and his father, Ted, in O'Donoghue's bar alongside Ronnie Drew (who later formed The Dubliners).  These informal sessions ensure that O'Donoghue's bar became part of Irish musical folklore and for the next few years, Finbar and Eddie Furey toured Britain and Europe, started the Irish Folk Festival in Germany with Carsten Linde and introduced a whole new generation to the wonders of Irish music.

Rebecca Storm
After studying Music & Drama, Rebecca formed her own band and toured England and Europe singing mainly folk & rock songs. Gaining rave reviews, Rebecca was catapulted into the world of Musical Theatre, playing some of the most demanding roles ever written for leading ladies: Eva Peron in ‘EVITA’, Fantine in ‘LES MISÉRABLES’, Grizabella in ‘CATS’, Florence in ‘CHESS’, Rose in ‘ASPECTS OF LOVE’, Edith Piaf in ‘PIAF’, Joan of Arc in ‘JEANNE’ and more…

Swingabella swingbellas jpeg
Swingabella is a close-harmony vocal trio bringing back the sassy sound of the 30’s, and 40’s – the Swing era. Nothing conjures up the image of that era quite like the jaunty Don’t Sit Under the Apple Tree and the ever-popular In The Mood coquettishly sung by three broads in victory rolls and T-bar shoes! However don’t be surprised to hear an occasional well-known pop tune that’s been Swingabellafied! Swingabella perform a full concert set of songs with a live trio of musicians or, for even more impact, with the 8-piece band Nightswing. They can also perform with high quality backing tracks – ideal for a 20-30min guest spot.
